For 100 years, thousands of students have rehearsed, formed friendships and performed under the SUSO name. It is only through the continued generous donations from our SUSO Friends and Alumni we are still able to develop our musical abilities to new heights. The money donated allows the orchestra to play in prestigious venues both in the UK and Europe, performing outstanding repertoire and developing our musical talents under the expert guidance of our conductors.
If you are an alumnus of SUSO, we would love to hear about your orchestral experiences at the University of Southampton. As part of a new SUSO archiving project, we are trying to build up the history of SUSO through the long 100 years: pieces, members of the orchestra, conductors, preterm, tours and more.
The Student’s Union cannot fund the orchestra sustainably and just £25 pays hire for one hour’s use of rehearsal space. We are therefore incredibly grateful to all our Friends and Alumni who show unparalleled support and each academic year continue to donate to the orchestra. Below are the most popular deals we offer, however, all donations large and small are greatly appreciated.
If you would like to sign up to our Friends and Alumni Scheme or to find out any more information, please email SUSO Vice President, at suso@soton.ac.uk.
